Paws to Trail<p>The Fluffy Cows ™️ were out! They were in a narrow transfer area waiting to be moved to another bit of prairie. Zeena and Tonttu of course were excited to say hi.</p><p>The sign on the fence says that everyone must stay 10 feet away from the fence for safety reasons, but doing so would have meant standing on the side of the slope! One winter, they kept elk together with the bison. I often wonder why they don't allow animals who cohabit well to share spaces, as it could mean much larger spaces for them and it seems more natural, but, anyway, I enjoyed this visit.

"Olympic Game Farm: Bison"


The Olympic Game Farm is a sort of drive-thru zoo, where guests are handed loaves of sliced bread to pass out to animals, who come up to the cars to eat the slices.

Due to how aggressive the bison are in their section of the zoo, we were told to never stop, as they can damage cars. The bison jam their heads into open car windows whenever they sense bread, and slobber all over!

My next Canadian 🇨🇦 province is Manitoba with its provincial animal the bison and flower the crocus (Anemone patens) in this linocut. The block was inked 'à la poupée' (with different colours, pale violet, umber and brown, in different areas) and printed by hand on lovely Japanese kozo (or mulberry) paper.
