#PeteHegseth's in the news lately because of a "mishap" with a Signal group chat involving possibly top secret information about killing #Houthis. You might think this demonstrates poor judgment.

This is all less surprising if you know that Hegseth is a crypto bro who lost a bunch of money in possibly the most obvious cryptocurrency ponzi scheme in history, #CelsiusNetwork. Hegseth entrusted the group of Russian Israelis running #Celsius with his hard earned money *even after* the CFO of the firm was sent to prison in #Israel for #moneylaundering and organized crime connections.

tl;dr Maybe America should reconsider putting crypto bros in charge of the military.

The transplanted to potting mix bags #JerusalemArtichoke didn’t like the 35° #Celsius we eventually got to yesterday.

This morning they’ve been given a good soaking & are starting to recover.

It might hit 37° or 38° today, so I’ll check through the day.

The #Mudbrothers & the #Wiltipoll #lambs water troughs both went down around 5 inches overnight!

Troughs have been topped up & the #alpacas & #sheep have been fed.

The town’s #CFA #fire #siren went earlier, but I think it’s just a drill.

The artichokes both looked much worse than this before getting a morning soaking. They’ve had another soaking since this & are looking even better. My hip has me staying inside under the fan for now, so another pic will be later in the day once my pain meds kick in.

Many people believed that because Celsius was based in the US, it was carefully regulated and therefore safe. Letters written to the judge in the bankruptcy case revealed the extent of the devastation to people around the world, some of whom had their entire life savings or retirement money on the platform. Celsius CEO Alex Mashinsky has entered a guilty plea in his criminal fraud trial, which was scheduled to begin in about two months. His Celsius cryptocurrency platform collapsed in July 2022 after it couldn't meet customer withdrawal demands. Its failure was particularly devastating because it had actively marketed itself to customers as safer than banks, regularly telling customers that "banks are not your friends".
