At the moment I'm committed to the #Fediverse platform and to #CoSocial, our member-owned co-op instance, for my primary online social life. But at the same time I’d like #Bluesky to succeed, because the ATProtocol is technically interesting and having alternatives is good. Having said that, this doesn’t make me happy. I just don’t see how Bluesky is financially sustainable.

BlueskyBluesky Announces Series A to Grow Network of 13M+ Users - BlueskyBluesky now exceeds 13 million users, the AT Protocol developer ecosystem continues to grow, and we’ve shipped highly requested features like direct messages and video.

At the #CoSocial AGM there was some discussion about @kissane and @darius's recent governance report.

So of course I thought 🍂 fall reading group 🍂 to read it and chat about improvements for our coop, poll and details for members here: members.cosocial.ca/t/reading-

If people outside CoSocial also want to join you are more than welcome! Just reply here! (Though fair warning I'm going to bring the discussion back to our coop)

Hey CoSocialists! (Is that our demonym?)

We Torontonians want an XMPP server.
(404.city has been good, but getting flakier.)

Is having an XMPP service for cosocial something you would like/want/use?

(Free as in Freedom, encrypted, all the good stuff, of course)

I am moving from my old instance to #cosocial. I exported 153 bookmarks and 3500+ that I follow but, after importing the csv files, I only ended up with 5 bookmarks and about 500 that I follow. I have a collection of lists that I also want to move but I think I need everyone I follow in the system first. Are there limits to the numbers that can be imported? Have people had success importing lists?
