I'm just thinking out loud here, but are there many who enjoy via who might want to do a bit of a weekly or monthly play-along together?

Like a book club for older games?

I know for the community there is and but for desktops themselves the options are many.

Might be nice to all decide on a game to play, then share our thoughts on it via a #?

These things rarely work, or keep up steam...but thinking aloud, it could be fun!

Alright, got the factory reset and installed. Got my dumps up and running as well as my collection. I really love that it's a little box but hate that the desktop mode and the on-screen keyboard do not like each other one bit. Is anyone rocking a BLE keyboard with their deck? Is that weird? I don't think it would be. But it would kind of bring down the whole portability thing I think.

RetroDECK runs everything: roms, emulators, bios, saves, mods - the whole lot from a SD card, saving your SSD from data stored there.

Speaking of, the data from EmuDeck gets stored in NO NICE WAY. It's everywhere, in every nook!

RetroDECK only updates periodically - when the emulators are stable and worth transitioning to new versions. Unlike EmuDeck which has frequent issues because of this.

It's my choice!

Perhaps a, delicate admission, but the sub-reddit 'SteamDeckPirates'.

When I joined the information wasn't really there for 'those' games running on the . It was gate-kept and disseminated or simply didn't exist. So I took a mostly abandoned sub and made it...great!

From there I started to pivot, I interviewed the devs from things like Heroic, or and , befriended and became close friends with

So, both and legit programs.

It still amazes me that last year I interviewed (and sometimes befriended) figures such as and , and , alongside the developers of , , , , and...so, so, SO many more besides.

I cracked on a game to see how it worked, I wrote tens or thousands of words for a ton of guides for gaming and tinkering, and then -

That was it! Now I'm happier JUST , its almost like retirement! <3

Then again, my curated collection of games is in a good place. Only those games that are near and dear to my heart, with some outliers for curiosity.

Need to figure out a way of making a snapshot of them in the current state in case of an emergency. I have invested a ton of time in setting up

I was having some trouble with #EmuDeck showing me duplicates of games loaded on my #SteamDeck, but, as usual, the problem was yet another case of "it's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me."

I had like three different emulators for the same systems, making the whole thing redundant. What I was seeing were shortcuts to the same game on different emulators. So I went back, loaded only the ones I wanted to use instead of carelessly going through the options and selecting everything and now it looks neat.

Ayer salió publicada la versión 2.3 de EmuDeck. Entre las novedades se encuentra una completa revisión de la interfaz gráfica, nuevos emuladores de Nintendo 3DS (Lime3DS, PabloMK7 Citra fork) y la posibilidad de actualizar emuladores desde gamemode con EmuDecky.

Hay que tener en cuenta que para actualizar a esta nueva versión es necesario hacer un Quick o un Custom reset de EmuDeck.
