Но есть один стандарт, про который сказать так как-то не получается, и имя ему — QIC. Странная конструкция стримера и кассеты, не слишком уж долгий срок хранения — всё это про него. Так получилось, что как-то раз ко мне попал стример такого типа и кассета к нему, на которой ещё оставались какие-то данные. Что же с ним можно сделать? Давайте разбираться. Итак, в сегодняшней статье поговорим про стримеры стандарта QIC и miniQIC. Попутно разберёмся, как они работают и в чём их фатальный недостаток, попробуем восстановить данные с архива тридцатилетней давности и узнаем, почему нельзя пользоваться проприетарным софтом для резервного копирования.

- A #Ramdisk-only #Linux that allows one to easily connect to stuff and mount one's

And yes, there are people who work on #DIY'ing #8inch and #5inch #FDDs from scratch cuz unlike the 3,5" #FDD they haven't been made not for 13+ years, but 25+ years!
Thanks to @logout for his FDD-to-USB box! It works like a charm. I was able to read my old high school diskettes containing e.g. source code in ASM for Intel 8051 CPUs.
