FediDB will soon become open source and self-hostable, and I look forward to contributions from our community as this has proven to be an essential resource.

I want to thank all of my supporters for giving me the ability to work on projects like these, I strive to do better and I think you guys will like the new FediDB.

This is amazing!

What's amazing is the interaction between makers/developers/doers and all this is happening on the fediverse! Not on some remote site that lacks proper or any Activity Pub support!

The fediverse gives me hope about the future!

@3dcandy I wasn't coming from the standpoint of a social media evangelist for or against one or the other, or the merits that one has growth vs the other. Just pointing out the sudden and staggering fedidb data drop for this month.

I understand the point you are making overall, but I was just sharing that fedidb specifically changed their data calculation system recently so the conclusion that those users and instances have stopped using the fediverse is incorrect, as to the stability of the fediverse

I was just pointing out, in this case, the conclusion made is with bad data. I also presumed you might not have been aware of the changes in the way #fedidb collects its stats that was made over the last couple weeks.

Hey @dansup@mastodon.social, can I poke you about getting NodeBB on FediDB?

It automatically picked up a couple NodeBB sites, so I think the nodeinfo stuff is working, just not sure if it required some manual intervention on your end to get the software link working — it currently 404s.

Cheers :flag-ca:
