root42<p>New video: Funny Playing 4.2 SEGA GameGear LCD Mod</p><p>This is another GameGear mod. But as my favorite LCD mod is currently not available, I ordered a random one off of Aliexpress. It turned out to be a Funny Playing branded one -- it seems it's their version 4.2, with laminated screen and glass lens. Funny enough (haha!) I can't see it on their website. No idea what that's about, but let's give this mod a go, anyway!</p><p><a href="https://youtu.be/Sq8_l8haYdo" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">youtu.be/Sq8_l8haYdo</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://chaos.social/tags/retrogaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>retrogaming</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/sega" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>sega</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/gamegear" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gamegear</span></a></p>

argv minus one<p>I'd like to take a moment to appreciate <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/USB" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>USB</span></a> power delivery.</p><p>As a kid, I would have killed to be able to run my <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/GameBoy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GameBoy</span></a> off my parents' car engine during road trips. To say nothing of the <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/GameGear" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GameGear</span></a>'s infamously high power draw.</p><p>Modern phones and portable game consoles can do just that, no problem. And thanks to that, they can get away with having glorious high-resolution emissive screens and fast CPUs. The idea of the Game Gear is now perfectly viable. Awesome.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/gaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gaming</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/retrogaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>retrogaming</span></a></p>
