If this is one of the best and most established UI toolkits out there, native applications are fucking doomed.</p><p>I used to pretty vehemently argue that most complex js webdev shit should be native apps – and they should be – but now I definitely understand why people don&#39;t want to deal with this shit.</p>

Mit Boatswain gibt es sogar eine ansprechende und moderne GTK-App dafür – jetzt in Version 5.0 mit Support für neue Geräte wie das Stream Deck Plus und das Neo. Das UI wurde komplett überarbeitet, um auch Touchscreen und Drehregler abzubilden. Stworzenie własnej apki GNOME na Linuxie jest prostsze niż myślałem. Pobrałem sobie przedwczoraj GNOME Buildera, parę kliknięć i mam gotowe środowisko do pisania apki w Pythonie i budowania Flatpaka i od wczoraj robię własnego klienta PeerTuba. Kiedyś dłubałem w Gtk3 w C, jak chodzi o Pythona, Gtk4 i Libadwaitę to jestem zielony i robię to na czuja, ale jest taka apka, jak Workbench z masą gotowców, z których mogę sobie czerpać (bo niestety na ChacieGPT nie mogę zbytnio polegać, bo jest głupiutki xD). Teraz mam zrobione okienko z dynamicznym wczytywaniem filmów z infinite scrollem. Nie wiem, jak uda mi się ze zrobieniem odtwarzacza filmów, będę kombinował dalej :P

Would you say that you have stability with #Plasma6 on #debian ?

I am looking to transition away from #xfce with the upgrade to #trixie, and likely to switch to #kde because I think the #gtk desktops are all suffering to different levels and I'm not keen on some directions they're taking.

But stability is important as I want to just 'do stuff' on the computer and not have to manage it too much. It's part of why I stick with #Debian #Stable because, well, it's so stable !

Omfg :blob_rainbowheart: :blahaj: :breadnommed: I think I finally understood #Python, #Lutris and #GTK sufficiently, and my brain decided to do one of these super rare happy chemical flushes. :blahaj: Fucking Poggies. 🎆

The speed result is completely inaccurate (turns out the existing Downloader class doesn't wait long enough if all you care is for the very first measurement), but right now I'm just happy it updates the text accordingly every time. :blahaj:

The Lutris install window where it shows all available files that can be downloaded, in this case for the game Trackmania Nations ESWC. A dropdown menu in the top right is opened with an entry called "Run Speedtests", its description saying "Run a short speedtest on all files available for download". The list of files shows one file on nvidia.com at a supposed speed of 283.1 KB/s as well as 5 files on archive.org with 5.5 KB/s. Those measurements are completely wrong.
