One last push: nominations for the Hugo close tomorrow night, and I think City of Roses deserves to be on the short list for Best Series. I mean, I'd say it's the best urban fantasy series you aren't reading, but then, I'm biased.
Hi folks! We're going be winding down this account from now on in favour of focussing on our Bluesky and Facebook accounts (search "GSFWC" to find us on those).
But before we go, here's a quick reminder to #Hugo voters that all the stories in our anthology #Gallus are eligible for Best Short Story - including tales by Hal Duncan, E.M. Faulds, Neil Williamson, Ruth EJ Booth and many more. Thanks for your consideration!

Thanks to @offby1 for leading the work on the Hugo, Lodestar, & Astounding Awards nominations and ballot voting system in use this year, NomNom. I used it yesterday and it worked so smoothly, with lots of little touches to reassure & inform me, and help me help celebrate the best of sf/f.
Chris started it in December 2023, for the 2024 Worldcon to use. Grateful for his efforts & for everyone who's contributed!
Nominations are still open—there's time yet to put in your plug for the City of Roses as Best Series:

Final* update on my Visualising the #Hugos thing: now has a proper web page at https://zoeimogen.github.io/hugo-sankey/ which includes all the nomination graphs as well as final round voting.
Camestros Felapton has some more statistics covering the awards too, over at https://camestrosfelapton.wordpress.com/
*I may add second/third place runoffs at some point as well as previous years but all the copy-pasting has become a bit tedious for now.

@naomikritzer @clarkesworld And now that story has won a Hugo! Wonderful stuff. Might listen again this week. #Hugos #Glasgow2024
My discussion on Bujold's Hugo winner "Paladin of Souls" with @sethheasley was included in his official Voter Packet for the #Hugos Best Fancast! The voting ended in July and I'm rooting for him for the Hugo Awards, winner to be announced tomorrow night! https://hugospodcast.com/2024-hugo-voters-packet/
I voted AGAINST the proposal to add 2 indie dramatic presentation categories to #HugoAwards -- in addition to their vagueness as stated and everything that @HugoBookClub said in https://hugoclub.blogspot.com/2023/11/indie-cinema-and-hugo-of-doom.html, it's unfair to give even more awards to what amounts to movies/tv (what else ever makes finalist, 99% of the time?), when so much *great* SFF #audiodrama goes totally unrecognized by the #Hugos each year (yes, I nominate them!).
Guess we're never ever going to have a non-controversial #Hugos now
More than 300 fraudulent votes and 10s of thousands paid for them. Amazing.
Hey, I've revived my moribund personal book review blog in order to post my thoughts on the Hugo Nominated 'Life Does Not Allow Us to Meet' novella by He Xi, because it requires a certain . . . vigour of expression to convey the strength of my displeasure that would probably not be welcome at other outlets.
CW: The words 'genocide' and 'fuck' appear frequently, in a variety of forms.

@terrymatz oh, I just saw this - and this means I do need to add the #Lodestar finalists to my list (I was just powering through all the #Hugos in the last month)
The #Hugos packet is available and oh god, now I have so much to read. Yikes.
