The Desktop PC really is something I'm interested in, but I wonder how the pricing will work.

At $1,099 doesn't seem too bad, buy even then it still has to battle with laptops with an RTX at that price point.

Again, the + Intel combo is readily available in terms of graphics and power, so I don't see this flying off from shelves, but what do I know.

@bwana I consider doing something like a #NUC #PCcase...

Also I'd not want to ruin an expensive collectors piece just to dremel around and find out.

It'll also help me designing the #NUCbook and I was considering to basically just scale up the two long sides for that, embracing the #FrutigerAero #aesthetics if the form factor!

  • Thanks again for your help...

#MilkVJupiter is the first #ITX #RISCV board #JeffGeerling tested
It includes niceties like front panel IO, front-panel Audio, USB 3.0, and USB 2.0, 24-pin ATX power input, an M.2 M-key slot for NVMe, and an open ended PCI Express slot!
#Canonical seems to have a good relationship with #MilkV, so #Ubuntu seems to be the base distro off which #Bianbu #Linux is built.
It all works—a bit better than he expected. But RISC-V isn't ready for prime-time yet

Not only to the office. When diy #pcbuilder choose to pc case, they always have to check the height of #cpucooler and gpu. Because some #ryzencpu need very big tall tower type cooler—or check the #aio installation.
But new ryzen pcbuilder can even choose mini-tower case—easily.

Some people are saying only it's good for #itx(small sized PC)—emphasizing it's very minority thing.
But reality is far different than what they were thinking. Not every one can afford bigger size desktop pc—or normal size with fancy #aio.
Many people also prefer normal size.

TechHubAra@Ungeekiness (@ungeekiness@techhub.social)Many #youtube and #socialmedia saying new #Ryzen9600x 9700x are terrible. And saying #Amd is failing. But that's completely one sided(gaming and fancy builder focused) story. I can easily prove it. When person build new ryzen pc, most common question is 'my pc were very hot'. Whenever I saw some post about #pcbuilder troubleshoot in #ryzencpu, number one(??) answer is 'replace stock cooler'. Some high performance cpu, #aio is kind of mandatory or something. New #ryzen9700x 9600x don't need fancy cooler, it's amazingly better to the office, isn't it?

Finished my first Mini ITX build (dusty Xbox controller for scale). Been pecking away at it for several months now as a way to use some spare parts I had lying around, and I finally got around to ordering the last bits I needed to get everything set up. Runs super quiet and I think has some decent enough heat management, but I haven't stress tested it enough to be sure. Surprisingly smooth build though, all things considered.

Right, that's done enough for now. The #FractalDesign Ridge is a phenomenal #ITX case with almost as much configurability as the Core V1 I just pulled this machine from, but with some major issues. My NH-L12S is on the CPU cooler compatibility list, but my motherboard puts it higher than expected, so it fouls the internal power cord; that's okay though because my PSU's socket is placed so it can't work with it either. My PC thus sits open upside down until I find a right-angled cable that fits.

Radxa Rock 5 ITX board coming in April (RK3588 processor, LPDDR5 memory and an ITX form factor)

The Radxa Rock 5 line of single-board computers feature Rockchip RK3588 processors and compact designs: the Rock 5A is about the size of a Raspberry Pi Model B (or a credit card), while the Rock 5B is a slightly larger model with more I/O options.
But Radxa is also working on a Rock 5 ITX board that uses the same processor, but adds faster memory, […]
