PeterSome people just love to throw away money.We pulled into tonight's camp spot to find a gazebo propped up next to the garbage bin. The usual story: somebody bought it, used it, didn't understand the instructions, and broke it trying to pack it up. That happens a LOT.Two of the cross braces for the same corner were snapped (Pic 1).A bit of aluminium and four screws et voila! Fixed (Pic 2).Does it look good? No, but I can replace the cross braces with new ones later. PeterWell, that's the high-temp gasket goo I used on the exhaust manifolds and turbo last time removed and replaced with real gaskets. The goo worked OK on the manifolds, but the stuff blew out of the turbo connection completely. Mildly disappointing. Still I'm getting much faster at getting the bits off and back on again 👨‍🔧.Looks like I should get the full 10 to 12 psi boost out of the turbo again; I won't know for sure until we climb a hill ⛰️.Also replaced the previously-damaged waste gate vacuum hose with a new one-piece hose instead of the Frankenstein's monster of spare parts I rigged up to get us back to our daughter's place, so now we're off again 🚐.Oh, now I have to replace the door seal on the washing mashine as it has started rubbing, and overheated silicone makes your washing smell ... interesting 🤢.The range of jobs one needs to get the basic gist of when living on the road is comprehensive 🤣🛠<a href="https://theblower.au/tags/RVLife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#RVLife</a> <a href="https://theblower.au/tags/MotorhomeLife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#MotorhomeLife</a> <a href="https://theblower.au/tags/NomadLife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#NomadLife</a> <a href="https://theblower.au/tags/VanLife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#VanLife</a>

PeterThe whole thing—50 kilograms of wheel, 10 kilograms of mount, 3 kilograms of chain & pulley—had decided to take a vacation, or perhaps just wanted to rest for a while.Having recovered the kit and had a good look today, it turns out all of that weight was held up by two 6 mm bolts and some tack welds. Australian dirt roads being how they are—corrugated nightmares with 44 gallon drum sized potholes for funsies—I'm very surprised we didn't lose the lot much earlier. Needless to say I'll be putting it all back together much better.We were very lucky that the road wasn't busy, or dry.
