I know there are much more pressing life urgencies in the world, and I’m embarrassed about my #WhitePrivelge Wanting to connect with other #mad folx. My child and I’s support puppy was tragically killed in a hit and run car accident in front of me. We’re so #heartbroken He helped me with my #panicattacks and supported my child during reflux and when she was extremely ill with #covid19 He was a natural #disability support for our family during the ongoing #isolation and #ableism #noadvice

Continued thread

I was surprised how few occurrences of there were when I clicked it. But I suppose posts with it in are likely to be unlisted or followers-only ones anyway, meaning it won't come up.

Interesting. I checked the tag to see how people are using it, and it wasn't long before I found a post containing the phrases "it's not that difficult" and "how to use the mute and block buttons".

(Though, TBF, I think it was in a discussion that was really about something else.)

But still: "You should just do B" is never a helpful response to "Please don't do A". Maybe they're tired of having to do B because you can't refrain from A? Maybe that's why they're asking you to stop?

Work is stressful at the moment, for reasons including the fact that we are moving office in January. I think I may take my knitting with me for lunchtime read-and-knit stress busting.

I work in a law firm, in property. We have no file storage in New Office. We need to become actually paperless, not just technically paperless.

Big plus: New Office has working heating and air con, so whatever else it is 100% better than Old Office. #NoAdvice #Knitting #LegalLife #LegalSecretary

@sergiotarxz @fakefred @jimpjorps Wouldn't work. I never bother to check anyone's profile replying to some random stranger. Most don't have very informative profiles anyway and those who bother to write one with silly rules are typically 흰색 왼쪽 people and they rarely post anything worth replying to.

A simpler solution is to teach those few people who want #NoAdvice how to use the Mute and Block buttons. It's not that hard. Site wide rules are never actually needed.
