Die Professionalisierung vollzieht sich nicht als Emanzipationsprozess, bei dem genuine Aufgaben theoretisch begründet und höher bewertet werden. Sie vollzieht sich als Übernahme vermeintlich höherwertiger Tätigkeiten, die z. T. von vollständigen Professionen übernommen werden. Gleichzeitig werden früher als genuin betrachtete Aufgaben abgewertet und an billigere Arbeitskräfte delegiert.
