Enjoyed PyCascades? Check out another single track conference with great speakers (and organizers) in Portland
#PyCascades was a blast this year! I'm really happy I attended, this time as an unaffiliated professional looking to learn new things and make new connections...and I did both! Thanks to everyone in the organizing and volunteer team for making such an enjoyable experience! I hope to attend next year :)
Really enjoyed meeting a bunch of smart, kind, and interesting folks at #PyCascades this weekend. I hope to see you all again in the future!
I've had so much fun at #PyCascades this weekend and I'm sad to see it come to an end. I'm immensely grateful to all the organizers, presenters, volunteers, and attendees that made this conference so excellent. Special thanks to the sponsors, especially the PSF and Twilio, for making this possible!
The #PyCascades PyLadies panel has an impressive lineup of experts in climate, medical research, AI, and more. Really excited to hear their experiences and opinions. Thank you @drishtijjain , Lilinoe, Nasim, and Parul for sharing, and Tammy for moderating!
Had a great time speaking at @pycascades !
Such an incredible audience and a great venue!

I haven't used a microcontroller since college, but Sage Elliott's #PyCascades talk "You Should Build a Robot" is making me want to try it again. It's a very approachable tutorial and the end result is so charming!
We’re in the final part of Day 2 at #PyCascades 2025, and it’s been an incredible ride!
We’ve already experienced amazing talks from Aji Fama Jobe, Drishti Jain and Sage Elliott, with top-notch presentations and energy that’s off the charts!
As we wrap up our final day, thank you all for being part of this amazing conference. Let’s make the most of the last sessions and continue the inspiration!
@drishtijjain gives my new favorite talk of #PyCascades, talking about using Python for climate research. Best quote (although I may have a few words wrong): "we're using AI to make predictions to offset the damage done by all these AI queries"
Aji Fama Jobe talks about the fact that contributing to open source doesn't automatically lead to recognition, and suggests some ways to make contributions more visible. #PyCascades
@veldakiara gave her talk “Optimal Performance over Basic as a Perfectionist with Deadlines” and it was AWESOME!

At #PyCascades in Portland, which is being held in a former school, there is a library with these "year books" from the 1960s. When people used to buy encyclopedia sets they would come with these yearly updates that talk about what happened in the past year for major topics.
We’re in the second part of Day 2 at #PyCascades 2025, and it’s been AMAZING!
We’ve already had incredible talks from Allen Y, Aswin Kishore, Mason Egger and Velda Kiara! The presentations have been outstanding, and we’re just getting started!
The energy is high, and we’re pumped for what’s coming next. Stay tuned — the best is yet to come!
@veldakiara presents Django tips and tricks for optimizing performance and improving page load time. Practical stuff, I've used many of these features and they really make a difference! #PyCascades
@masonegger returns to the #PyCascades stage to give us Texas jokes, grammar, the etymology of y'all, and the importance of inclusive language. I'm saving this slide for the next time someone asks why this matters.
Allen Yesudasan and M Aswin Kishore talk about various tools in the asyncio toolbox. If you want to know the difference between Awaitable, Future, Task, and TaskGroup, or what's the deal with ASGI, these two can help you out. A lot of content packed into these 25 minutes! #PyCascades
A massive round of applause to our sponsor, Python Software Foundation (PSF), for their incredible support of the #Python community
As part of the PSF Fiscal Sponsorship program, their generosity helps make #PyCascades possible, and we’re deeply grateful for their ongoing commitment to our community.
Thank you for empowering us to thrive and grow!

@aether introduces Airflow at #PyCascades, complete with real-world case studies. I've been a little intimidated by Airflow- it's so powerful that it can be hard to know where to start- so seeing some actual examples was really helpful!
I have uploaded a copy of my Lightning Talk presentation on GitHub
Nasim, Liam, Quinn Wai, and Kyle talk about how they use Python to process data for cancer research. As a tech worker, it's fascinating to see some tools I use like Pydantic and Airflow alongside some more specialized ones. Cool talk! #PyCascades
