Done this week for a community art study of water. Itsukushima temple, Rebelle 7 Pro.
This is from a photo I took in 2009, and my third attempt at painting it. A loose, painterly approach proved much more successful this time around, instead of getting lost in the accuracy and detail of the architecture. I wanted the focus to be the water, anyway.

On the far left a cabin boat, you are looking at the back. Through the windows of the cabin you can see the orange water. To the right of that, lies horizontally, a rowing boat. A man is standing on the back. More to the right behind that, a Spanish fishing boat, recognisable by the superstructure.

Reflections on the water surface of botanical garden visitors looking at a turtle on a partially submerged log extending into the pond close to the weathered wooden pedestrian bridge on which they are leaning on the railing. the surrounding trees and blue sky above are also part of the reflections. The edge of the pond is covered in dried brown leaves.

A look acrosscalm Lake Pehoe to the towering snow-capped peaks in Torres del Paine NP in Patagonia Chile. The calm water reflects the majestic mountain peaks. The small red structure is the dining hall of the lodging where we stayed which had this spectacular view!
