Howdy folks. Here is my #T-Mobile dilemma. I do work for a nonprofit which requires that I receive lots of calls/texts. I currently have a PROXY by DIGITS line which I have begun using, and it’s been a great success. My only problem is that I cannot receive SMS short codes, and that’s a necessity. I called customer care this morning to ask if there was a cheap talk and text only plan which I could connect to an old android phone which I have lying around, and it seems there is. The problem is that my primary line is on Go5G Next which is a tax inclusive plan, and the talk and text only plan is a tax exclusive plan. Adding these together on one account is apparently a big no-no with the billing system. So now, I’m stuck. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? I don’t need anything fancy. All I want is to connect my PROXY line to the cheapest plan possible simply so that I can receive SMS short codes on an old phone. I still primarily intend to use the number via the DIGITS app on my iPhone and PC. If this is possible, any input on how it can be accomplished would be greatly appreciated. I just really want to go work at T-Mobile for like 6 months so I can fix their damn Digits platform. I'd be so awesome if:
1. It worked.
2. Their support agents had any idea how it worked.
3. The app wasn't just literally the shittiest attempt at a wrapper on a website, or more specifically, "ribbon and a bow on some pile of bullshit monkeynuts."
4. It didn't take a goddamn engineering army to figure out how the damn thing works (I swear, "telephony engineers" who don't know how SMS, SIP, and PSTN switching work should never be allowed anywhere near the "engineering" title).

It's almost good, but it's really not.

So I was having this networking issue in the #homelab and I came across #OpenWRT and it installs on an EdgeRouter! I been trying to get rid of my EdgeRouter 4 for ages and this thing has brought it back to live!! #hardware #networking might be back!

Had a weird problem in the #homelab yesterday. For some reason my #Vyos router and my #tmo internet connection stopped playing nice. I remove the physical link and the gateway with WiFi work! I add the link back and that thing falls off. I'm starting to think about going back to physical #networking gear! Cause trouble shooting virtual routers can get a bit complex even though nothing changed at least not on my gear.
