Well that was absolutely glorious. I hadn't previously seen a performance of Love's Labour's Lost so imagine my surprise and delight at finding out that Shakespeare had written something that can only be described as a jukebox musical set in Ibiza in the mid 1990s.

Friends, there was singing! There was dancing! There was fast and clever wordplay and rhyming, There was laughter galore, silliness, confusion, and an ever-so-convoluted plot worthy of the Bard himself. Ahh yes, it all starts to come together.

This was a fantastic joyous and joyful performance and I really loved it. If you can get to either Prescot (Liverpool) or Scarborough in the next month or two, do yourself a favour and book tickets, you won't regret it.

And yes, of course the gliter ball got used.

...and scene.

Strike tomorrow & that'll be another one in the books.

Shrek doesn't even crack my personal top ten, but the kids really had a lot of fun with several of them absolutely crushing their respective parts.

Bravo.

1 jour, 1 spectacle !

N° 8: "Le Silence est d'Or ? »

If you're local to #Boston and enjoy local #Theatre, I encourage you to check out None Escape.

None Escape is an adaptation of The Island of Dr. Moreau by H.G. Wells set in a trauma support group in the present day. The story follows Prentiss, who tells the support group her story of being shipwrecked on a mysterious island inhabited by Moreau, a scientist conducting disturbing experiments in vivisection, transforming animals into human-like creatures. As Prentiss tells her story, the space and actors around her become the set, the props, and the characters: the megalomaniac Dr. Moreau, his embittered assistant Jack Montgomery, and their Island of painfully transformed “Beast Folk."
