I'm finally back from the desert and happy to get a chance to return to a somewhat more regular routine again. This plot was based on the sketch I made for the last round of Patreon cards I sent out before my trip. The blacklight reactive colours for this design are just too fun! The design itself was part of an exploration into Wave Function Collapse. :D

One thing I have noticed is that the #WFC output has more (for want of a better word) "coherence" than the constraints output. Could probably add an extra layer of constraints (already added "cannot have adjacent Cult cards") but I suspect that's a mess of quickly diminishing returns.
After all my #WFC work, optimising, etc., it turns out that, for Carcassonne maps at least, you can generate them just as quickly (sometimes more quickly) using a simple "blat randomly and check constraints" approach as explained in the video below (which was a great help.)

I started attending cons as a fan in grad school, at the birth of Real-Time Real-Space roleplaying (now LARPing). I also costumed. I stopped attending as much during my heavy cat showing decades . . .
Now I have a regular con schedule:
