Bought a new keyboard for home as I plan to use my beloved Moonlander at work instead. Went for a QMK Keychron keyboard which is lovely in itself, but trying things out I am now holding a completely new appreciation for ZSA’s firmware configurator, which is what I use to configure the Moonlander. It is MILES ahead of the QMK/VIA configurator. I had no idea.

I thought the ZSA configurator, being based on QMK, would be similar to what I could expect for any QMK keyboard. I was wrong.

It is like comparing the latest set of flight controls with a bicycle.

I was trying to setup a build environment for my #ZSA Voyager so that I could enable features like Achordion to make the home row mods work better.

I got everything setup now and want to get started adding the features only to read in the newest newsletter from ZSA that they added Chordal Hold their version of #QMK which achieves the same result.

I will keep my setup in case something else tickles my fancy but for the moment the need seems to be gone.

blog.zsa.ioIntroducing Chordal HoldHome-row mods users, rejoice!

A few weeks ago I set aside my #ZSA #Voyager and considered switching back to Apple keyboards full time.

The reason: I want to use home row mods on my Voyager. But I couldn’t teach my fingers to stop rolling from, say, S to T. With home row mods, with S doubling as Alt, that often resulted in † (Alt-T) instead of st.

But now ZSA has added Chordal Hold to their keyboard configurator. blog.zsa.io/chordal-hold/

This fixes the one annoying problem I've had with my otherwise lovely #ZSAVoyager.

@kf hehe, I just disconnected mine after few years rocking it as my primary driver. I ended up with #voyager recently and it was totally worth of my investment. As usual, #zsa did it again :-). If your hands are on a smaller size then I strongly recommend looking at #voyager. This does not seem to be your case I assume ? Judging by looking at the "device" below the #ergodox :-)

Love my #Voyager from #ZSA. Now waiting for switches to arrive. Ordered Ambient Twilight so I'm really curious how much of a difference I'm going to see. Switches which came with the #voyager are a bit "stiff" for my fingers. I had Khail MX Brown ones in my old #ErgodoxEZ and those felt like a tank. Let's hope that tarrifs and all that mess which is now in the world won't block my delivery from Canada to US.

Anyone got the platform?

It's not a looker, but it's really sturdy and easy to adjust.

However, for a neutral, relaxed angle in my arms, I need to move the desk down so far that the desktop touches my legs; couldn't sit there on a normal chair anymore.

I don't recall having unusually long upper arms like an ape, so how do y'all manage?

my #ZSA order just arrived! it is not yet another keyboard though, but a set of their really cool ZSA Cards!

like all things ZSA does, they're thoughtful and inspiring.

#PROMPT YOURSELF

> This is similar to how you would use Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt’s brilliant Oblique Strategies, a powerful set of cards that has been helping creative professionals since 1975. The prompts are different, but the concept and method are similar.

> Now #write.

see? delightful! <3

I was listening to the podcast where Erez talked about how #zsa started and about the future of the company. He also mentioned that there are some changes going to be coming to #zsaVoyager. Has those changes been announced yet ? Where can I see what was changed ? I'm about to submit an order for #zsaVoyager and don't want to miss something important.
