After years, we’re still revisiting a new proposal to implement functions in , another ambitious project. I’m skeptical: wouldn’t it be better to leverage existing tools like FreeCAD’s kernel and wrappers such as PythonOCC, which already provide ready-to-use solutions? A native implementation would require advanced mathematical and programming expertise, which a beginner (still learning C++) would struggle to master in just a few weeks of development.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of workflows do you #freecad or other CAD package users have for simple stuff you need to model for 3D printing or CNC'ing?

I start with a crude Post-It note version and try to get all the measurements in that phase, so when I get to the good part, I can just keep on drawing without killing the flow.

medium.com/@brunopostle/actual

Medium · Actually drawing some ovals (that are not ellipses)By Bruno Postle

anyone know of a 3d print model for something designed to attach to a roll of flat material (like, paper/film/etc) for cutting it into rectangles? like, something with a straight guide and a little attached razor blade and such
