#Venezuela’s state-owned flag carrier Conviasa Airlines is heavily involved in Iran’s global illicit arms network.

A highly unusual occurrence involved the sanctioned airline Fars Air Qeshm B747, which flew westbound from Tehran, Iran. The flight changed its designation from QFZ9970 to W59970 and landed at Nouakchott, then the Iranian flight continued on to Caracas, Venezuela.

Iran is outsourcing kamikaze drone production to Venezuela. Tehran, Caracas and Moscow have been operating a clandestine air bridge that must be dismantled.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that they are aware of the case after an article was published by Trouw. The ministry is currently in contact with the man’s family and is providing consular assistance where possible.The spokesperson could not say anything more about the case for privacy reasons. Trouw reported that the Dutchman went from Lisbon to Caracas on December 24 to visit a friend for the holidays.
