isn't down with Drake today which tells you how bad it is to be drake. But he's pumped about my new album "all Labyrinth & NO MINOTAUR" coming out this wednesday on @triplicate ! I am so psyched! Folks have loved this when I played it for them which always surprises. Some say it's one fo my best yet. Also surprising. But i do hope you check it out! Only on Bandcamp!!!

In other news: I got (another) small portable b/w CRT TV. A "Realistic Portavision". Love the handle it has, reminds me of a SX64 to a certain degree. So I had to test it with my C64 :-) Overall condition is nice and it works just fine. Now I'll part with one of the more recent, smaller other CRTs I have to make room for it (and to calm my conscience).

I spared yall the horror of the demo phase but trust me it was dusty. Oy. After tossing the trash out the window + 2 vaccumings (1 shopvac, 1 Dyson) it’s clean. Well cleaner. Open hole ain’t great but it’s a surprising improvement as I hoped. I’m gonna have a pro handle the Sheetrock and painting. Paint the water pipe & meter white myself then wheeee. Anyway. Here’s wonderwall!

SLOW LEARNERS Is out today!

"Given the supreme musical proficiency of techno legends Cathode Ray Tube and @chaircrusher they were always going to be able to figure out how to stitch something cool like this together, but you'll still find yourself taken aback by just how tight it all ends up being."

This was a test run tonight of the livestream rig I’ve been putting together for a couple years now. I can’t believe that on today of all days (twas a shitshow I shay!) having something go right and so smoothly I really don’t have any excuse not to proceed with a regular monthly or even weekly livestream? Yikes?

I'm testing this rp2040-based text terminal on an LCD but ultimately it'll be running at 132x53 on a vintage IBM 9" paperwhite CRT. Source at github.com/jepler/cr100 is probably not ready for anybody else to use. Coded with pico-sdk

Core 1 races the beam to generate pixels while Core 0 remains free for what will eventually be a PS/2 keyboard decoder, UART communications, and ANSI-style terminal code interpreter.

Why is the text green? Because these old monochrome monitors only used the green signal and ignored red and blue. And it's easier to just not generate it in software, either.

For now, well, the screen update rate is pretty good.

Spent the morning working out a track.Entered the studio w/ a specific idea of drums & by the time I sent it to render they were totally different, replaced by what was an accidental drum loop. And like a certain rug it goes the whole song together. So score one for listening to what the track wants not your damn forced ideas.
