Yesterday I configured two VMs inside #proxmox to run some museums specific software. Learned some new stuff in this great software, i.e. store the backups in a NFS share on a second machine.
First is #PartDB as inventory software for our whole stuff including the library like books and software. And second is #Omeka for additional information about the machines in our exhibition.
It looks like we'll have a long way to go to get our entire inventory in order.

#HewlettPackard #OmniBook #HP600C. What a nice cute little machine. Boots fine from HDD with Win3.11. The most funny thing is the inbound mouse, which flips right out of the case with a button.

Finished my work at the #TexasInstruments #TI994A and at the cutting software to produce a video of it. Sorry, only in German. But it is possible with options dialog to choose a specific undertitle language for automatic translation. And it's not 34€ for the bending tool, it's 3 to 4€

At our annual member meeting yesterday we all plan to make a bit more documentation about our daily work for the museum. Our youtube channel needs significantly more input for staying up to date with the progress. We will see how well this works in the new year. We're one step further, the #KneisnerM100 can now finally be programmed in a high-level language like #Pascal.

Not that we do it, but we can now. It was really tricky to put software to the hdd, but I found a tool called 22disk, which can write from and to #IMSTurboDOS.

Today I started to repair our Texas Instruments #TI994A. It shows the wrong characters on startup. I'm unsure, maybe one of the ugly, soldered 4116 the video RAM. Main ROM rather unlikely, because it boots up fine to the start screen.

After fiddeling around to find a good terminal emulation program for simulating a #TeleVideo terminal I'm gone back to the roots. ZOC was an alternative, but it does not run under #Linux.
It's also a kind of #RetroComputing to control the #KneisnerM100 with an old DOS program Now the display positions are correct and no annoying ctrl sequences as with VT100 or ANSI.

Looking through our store of MFM harddisks to find a compatible one, which is bigger as 5MB. Found one Rodtime RO-204, but with bearing damage. Horrible loud and not so reliable at the end. Searching ended with Seagate ST-412 which is with 10MB big enough for the needs of a #Z80 system with a TPA of ~44 kB driven.

Additional news about the #IMSAI8080 clone. Boot from HDD is the past and done. But booting from A: with GOTEK FlashFloppy as 5" ~800k is the next step of evolution. I also connected the original #TVI912C terminal for best compatibility.
On Saturday I'll look for a bigger compatible Winchester drive. Maybe there is something in stock to pimp it up a bit.

At first glance, "just another" keyboard for the Iskra Delta Triglav computer (celebrating 40 years this year – more on that soon!), but upon closer inspection, it turns out to be a high-quality DIY conversion into an upgraded ZX Spectrum! (With one small flaw – did you spot it?) A big thank you to the generous donor!
