Jan<p>Switched to a Mac and I am really happy. No more tinkering with Linux for me and no more distrohopping (I admit… I was addicted).</p><p>I installed <a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/doomemacs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>doomemacs</span></a> on my Mac. The VIM-Keybindings are a game changer for me. No more pain in the hands. And Doom has a really nice out of the box-experience. And it runs super smooth on the Mac</p><p>Now I have more time to learn <a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/orgmode" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>orgmode</span></a> properly :-)</p>

Trying to read a blog post and getting sidetracked by 14px monospace font where the contrast somehow doesn't feel sharp enough at 9.98:1 and thank goodness for browsers with Reader Mode but anyways hashtag you might like this if you can read it #AstroDotBuild #Emacs #DoomEmacs

Alright, I'm actually curious as apparently some people are saying not use the terminal to access #Emacs. Though I prefer it myself, seems intuitive for my workflow. Though, I'm not sure if it is because I'm using #DoomEmacs over the vanilla GNU Emacs. What do you say ? Do you use your terminal for Emacs, or do you use the GUI ? Do you use Doom Emacs, GNU Emacs, or another spin of Emacs ?

Curious if anyone has gotten Mastodon working in #doomemacs?

I have the package running, and I can do some basic stuff like view my feed and favorite posts, but I can't create new posts or see that I've liked a post... Seems kind of janky!

That said it would be kind of neat to have a fully functioning Mastodon client in emacs, given the other options I've tried for web and mac are just ok...

For the first part of #DecemberAdventure I almost figured out how to publish my #OrgMode / #OrgRoam pages. Originally I wanted to work on and write about #65cha02 but Org's publishing config is, uh, a bit arcane. I also ran into the bug where if you use a URI scheme that Org doesn't know about it gives you an error. Already reported that bug years ago when I used it to write my CV and wanted a tel link in it, looks like it's still unfixed.
Well, at least I'm learning more about #Emacs... the hard way. Still, using #DoomEmacs is actually really nice, I'm finally getting into #Magit and it's the best way to selectively stage changes in #git that I've encountered so far.

Also, if anyone knows how to export only pages that have a given tag, I'd love to hear it. No, select_tags is not what I want. I want everything in my memex to be private by default.

Edit: Okay, couldn't leave it at that. Powered my way through even more computer weirdness and now I have a glorious website to document my journey. Woohoo!

Anyone on here a #doomemacs user that would be willing to help me figure out why my Rust LSP integration isn't working? The rust-analyzer seems to be running, and I'm not seeing any errors in my LSP buffer or anything, but I am not getting anything but syntax highlighting. Really hoping to make this emacs thing work! #emacs
