Seeing... interesting comments this week in defense of Mastodon/the fediverse, as if the recent activity on Bluesky is an issue for people here.

Sure, when folks leave Twitter/X and just bounce over here cold it's work for admin support here.

People leaving here because Bluesky may be perceived as more inclusive and less "techie" could be an issue. Are they right?

Otherwise:

If you've got a social network here that works for you, why worry?

I liked #AMurderAtTheEndOfTheWorld less. It's slickness, double timeline, frozen Icelandic setting and of course the whodunnit hook kept me watching. Kudos for working in a critique of our tech billionaire economy and reference to the human made apocalypse. But it lost me for really sloppy attention to actual logic. How does a main character escape out a door in a hotel that's been frozen in when it takes police hours to tunnel through ice to get in? And walk across snowfields to the north coast (carrying a child), when that journey almost killed two other characters, to meet a boat waiting through a blizzard in a miraculously ice free bay?? #Harrumph

@royal

For one thing, MMS hasn't been updated since the naughties, so sending video to a Green Bubble zone produces potato results.
There are other features that stop working when you're not in iMessage.

Of course, Apple loves to give people the impression that there's something wrong with Android, rather than letting their users realize that iMessage is not texting, but whatevs.

I'm kinda sick of the whole situation. And spoilt little iBrats. #Harrumph

Just musing on how un-reassuring it is when a paid professional makes the *same* error year after year… and we remind them that they confirmed IN AN EMAIL what we’re asserting.

It irks me that other companies, who aren’t that *on it*, will be missing such (what I consider) shoddy business practice. #harrumph #accounts
