Looks like #BlueBrixx is axing their series of 6W #train sets in favour of 8W: almost all 6W #locos and #coaces have been designated "EOL" (end-of-life) while quite a bunch of new 8W #models have been announced.
Doesn't mean threy are gone tomorrow but if you like their 6W rolling stock you should keep an eye on availability.
Customers seem to prefer 8W models and in terms of detail I can't blame them.

Últimamente en las noticias aparecen imágenes de individuos y grupos vandalizando obras de arte. A veces se trata de estatuas que rememoran personajes históricos, otras veces atentan en exposiciones de marcas y otras en museos vandalizando obras de arte. Pero esto no es algo reciente y ocurre desde hace mucho tiempo. Hoy os contaré la historia de un vándalo, un loco: Hans-Joachim Bohlmann.

Any train experts who can shed some more light on this graffiti depiction of a loco, almost certainly seen on the line below the bridge on which this is inscribed in slate at Porth Penrhyn, then exporting from the world's largest slate quarry at Bethesda, north Wales.
Any info will be included in the Historical Environment Record, so more than idle curiosity!

Took some pics yesterday of my small Lovers Communication System keyboard prototype.
It will help me to explore how to type with a corpus of 800 combination glyphs. I have many other ideas but you have to start somewhere

Back in the workshop today to finish my first #LoCoS keyboard prototype! I still have the software part to finish as well but it is really exciting to explore new ways of thinking about writing in the digital age.
Took me some time to do it because my assistant was really picky and wanted to validate all my design choices.
I was in a fablab for work today so I took the opportunity to cut some LoCoS lettering guide prototypes. It needs a little clean up but it works I think.

We have also talked about digitalization, as I understand now how he has constructed all LoCoS shapes and how I should improve mine. He still has a sharp mind and a good eye.
He grew up in a kimono shop owned by his family and was surrounded by Japanese family Crest design. He still owns catalogs, this one has a hundred years old I think.

He invited me to his apartment full of documentation about language systems, pictogram design, and his research on LoCoS when he was working on one of the first courses in the world on pictogram design at Zokei University around 1966. I had to buy a portable scanner to scan his postcard sized archives full of drawings for my own research and only had the time to scan a drop in the ocean.
