The #Trump shift continues: "Jeff Bezos deletes 'LGBTQ+ rights' and 'equity for Black people' from Amazon corporate policies" https://www.irishstar.com/news/us-news/jeff-bezos-deletes-lgbtq-rights-34533955 @irishtimes #trump #bezos #amazon #lqbtq
“63% of LGBTQ+ respondents, 57% of AAPI & Black Americans, and 55% of Latinos say they're concerned about their personal safety.
64% of Black Americans and 61% of #LQBTQ+ Americans cite concerns about their personal civil rights” https://www.axios.com/2025/01/20/axios-vibes-latino-black-lgbtq-pessimism-trump
Hello, I have a quick question, so I have a friend who is renting out part of their property, they just opened it up, we live in a blue city in a blue state and are on Erin in the mornings safe states for #lqbtq people. Is there a place where I can list it in a way that #trans #queer or other people can see it in case they want to flee their state?

@anyia@lgbtqia.space @dgar@aus.social For me, the crux of any holiday is to understand what it is and why it exists.
But as long as it’s not an abuse of the nature of the holiday, the real essence is to reflect on how we got here, why it exists, and to find some joy at all is to miss the point.
Some Jewish folks (or even atheists) celebrate Christmas. There is no historically accurate link between swimming pools opening or a grill being fired up on Memorial Day but we think about those who served and died for their country, any of our loved ones or even just a thanks to the idea if you don’t know anyone personally. Don’t get me started on St Valentines Day.
The point of Pride month to me is to celebrate the footholds that we have secured to be who we are in a society that endeavors to be free, especially among others who would include us. For some this is men wearing a dress, for some men feeling allowed to be interested sexually in other men (or women etc). This list is too long to list, fill it with all the “traditionally obvious pride” images you have.
There are many reasons why the lgbtqia+ space is overly sexualized, and while it’s an interesting sociology course it doesn’t actually matter here. What matters is you. You make a square on the quilt pattern that is unique. There is no requirement to wear a thong/bakini, or to visit Folsom Street, or even march in a parade… people celebrate in their own ways. How perfect is that actually for pride?!
If no one has, let me welcome you to feel grateful for whatever is in your heart or your life that hopefully has become less difficult to express. If that’s “I’m just not attracted to people like that” then so be it, and this month you can hopefully feel that the pressure to “be with the societally-prescribed Right Person” is less your burden than it was years ago. If it’s not the feeling you have, then help spread the word how your world can be more inclusive. Some may march past you, busy with their parade, and that’s ok that’s their thing. Others will listen. Your workplace. Your school board. You can’t even know ahead of time the trajectory of your impact.
For me, for pride, the expression “you do you” comes to mind.
The only people who should feel excluded from Pride in a perfect world are the shallow and suppressive and bigoted people who would suppress anyone else’s personhood or oppress any group of already marginalized people. They are not welcome. You, you are welcome

Currently streaming "All of Us Strangers" (2023).
It's another gay "angst" movie, the type I stopped watching after "Boys in the Band" but I'm sticking with it bc I want to see how it ends.
Other than how insufferably "slow" it is, the only thing I really have a problem with is the casting of the parents, who look the same age as the main character & couldn't possibly be his parents.
Right now, I 'd only give the movie a rating if 2 out of 5. I don't give 1/2 scores & a 2 basically means I don't or didn't like it & wouldn't watch it again.
--------------------------
Just finished the movie & get the age discrepancy between the parents & the main character now.
I won't spoil it but it's still a 2 to me & I wouldn't watch it again.
Kudos an den Trommler der heute beim Fastnachtsumzug in unserem konservativen Dorf eine Regenbogenflagge an seiner Trommel hatte.

He was also fired by Bell Media for discriminatory remarks #lqbtq and for promoting misinformation on Covid.
Jivani's disbarment, in Alberta no less, seems on-brand. No wonder he's considered a #Poilievre 'golden boy'
A PP caucus would be absolutely bonkers. Shades of Alberta's UCP but even more dangerous.
Anti-LGTBQ “Million March For Children” outnumbered by “Billion March For Not Being Bigots”

'In a related story, across Canada the “Million March For Children” protests have reportedly left hundreds of peewee hockey games un-screamed-at.'
