On The IT Crowd, ep2 S1, they show an emergency number 0118 999 881 999 119 7253. So I was curious what it actually did. Not being a total jerk, or having a #British phoneline, I had to work in theory, but I think I have an answer.

0118, is the Geographic code for Reading, the place, not in Monopoly, I think, and after a geographic code, 999 still connects to emergency services. Apparently even with the extra digits after it, though I'm not certain of that. #phone

Why do I not have ordered a #librem5 yet?
Well, I live in the EU and 1.7k€ for a phone with enough memory, so that I can use it as a daylie driver is a bit to much for me.

I would love to have a #linux first #phone as a daylie driver, but at that pricepoint... sorry I have to give it a pass. Maybe in 12 years, if I no longer have to pay child support

Dear Maggie…

I was going to post another selfie for today, but it just happened that I've made this shot yesterday in the morning. It was shot with my Huawei and in RAW.
This flower (which I called "Maggie" from Magenta, because I don't know its common or scientific name) is one of the hardest to shoot, for me. For a) The tone of the color always makes a problem for me whether in phone camera or DSLR, and b) It closes by night (or almost disappears) and must be shot during the day under the sun (and working under the sun is always hard, specially if for macro). Anyway, I managed to shoot it with DSLR handheld and in "simple" macro, which I might be posting later (still processing the images).

A pool of govt #data is especially powerful when combined w/private-sector data, such as… #mobile-#phone #geolocation data…could make inferences about actions, activities, or associates of…anybody perceived as a govt critic or #dissident.…The govt’s current use of combined data in service of #deportations—& its refusal to offer credible evidence of wrongdoing for some of those deported—suggests the admin is willing to use the data for #political aims.
