It felt really cool to finally have a mobile (#Pixel3a) in my hands, where I could unlock bootloader! It was flawless to install #UbuntuTouch and the OS looks super awesome - its #Linux in my hands!
But it took only some hours until I reached my personal end. This is way too much tinkering and compromises.
Since several vendors implement their authentication only for Android, you have to keep your old phone with Android to authenticate here and there. Or you install Waydroid, and emulate it.

Dear #linuxmobile community, my linux-phone-as-daily-driver-journey took me from 2years of #librem5 (everything functions, but way to slow & outdated software) to 1year of #op6t (perfect phone - except that calling is not reliable:D) to some months of the #pixel3a now. feels like this could be the happy end of my journey, because you can actually use it as a fast-enough phone!:) a minor thing is however the missing gps: does anybody know if that can be fixed? or is it a hardware thing?

is now in the edge/community repo on and officially!

I’m the sole maintainer of Kuroko on !

Here’s me installing it on a fresh copy of on a to celebrate!

Thanks the person on my original post for convincing me and the Alpine team.

I did ! The joke is now reality. Please as this is a big achievement for me!!!

Finally got a chance to load up #PostmarketOS on a #pixel3a . It's still not ready for prime the but damn... it's exciting to watch it get better.

EDIT: For all those people asking me why it's not ready for prime time, I've got a new website and I think my first post should be a more detailed set of issues (large and small) that I've found with #PostmarketOS. Give me a week or two.

And thanks for all the boosts and favourites! My most popular post yet?

Today my #Android #Pixel3a notified me that its "Assistant" (which I'd disabled) could be replaced with the new AI alternate, which I declined; but then went into the Settings to discover that the Assistant was tracking my youtube history, so I told it not to.

However, the above action resulted in youtube forgetting all my history; not just a disconnect from the Assistant.

I don't even watch youtube on the handheld; it's just incomprehensible on mobile.

This may be the first powered device or even first EVER to build and run the dialect!

repo for Kuroko (made by the same guy who created ToaruOS and even he ported Kuroko to UEFI):

github.com/kuroko-lang/kuroko

(Built on master branch directly from which is cool!)

UPDATE:
gitlab.alpinelinux.org/alpine/

Now attempting to get Kuroko officially in Alpine repos!

@pcublogue i daily drove a #librem5 for 1 1/2 years and it was workable, but it is really, really slow and the battery is bad. now i am on a #oneplus6t running #pmos and thats quiet fast. big downer is the missing camera and an annoying bug with calls though. however, i thing the #pixel3a with @postmarketOS is nearly there for daily driving (e.g. camera is somewhat working). on the #Fairphone5 the camera seems to work with pmos, too, just recently. however, i do not know about the rest.

For folks interested in cameras: there's a first version of patches for softwareISP color correction matrix (CCM) support now: patchwork.libcamera.org/cover/

Together with autofocus (AF) this probably the main missing feature to get a somewhat reasonable image quality on devices like the or with open drivers / close to .
