Hey. Help us pay for my new wheelchair? I'm desperately hoping the issues with my current chair are that it's old and battered and possibly needs more in repairs than would be worth it (it's better than NOT having one, don't get me wrong...). But $1,100 (rounded slightly up) is a dear price even if cheaper than we'd ever get anything custom.

We're hoping to pay it off in chunks, since we used a credit card, but. The assurance of *having* the money to pay it off would be awesome - and y'all can say you helped buy my chair! Win/win!

kolektiva.socialcamilla (@camilla@kolektiva.social)hi everyone! we have a new #MutualAid #MutualAidNeeded #MutualAidRequest #MastodonForHarris #Mastodon4Harris #HelpFolksLive #HelpFolksLive2025. we just replaced @inoru_no_hoshi@blorbo.social's power wheelchair with a new one that'll be here Saturday, for the fun sum of $1093.95 on a credit card, with monthly payments of just under $100. y'all, we bought this on faith and a prayer (and a reserve that will help but can't wholly cover the payments and help us not be crushed by poverty at the same time) because their old power wheelchair is unsafe now. it can't be driven across a curb cut without them ending up in the street, much more severely than my chair does. the motors struggle a good bit of the time. part of them having independence is the power wheelchair, so I'm asking to help us with the price of agency and independence as disabled individuals. as y'all probably know, we're both disabled and neither of us work, and we mostly survive off of the good will and kindness of our close friends and random strangers. February bill: $0/100; anything over goal will be paid to the credit card above and beyond the required payment to help pay it off sooner than the 12 months. put wheelchair in the comments. I've been in barely ♿️ #accessible towns and very accessible towns but so far, #LasVegas is the most fake-accessible I've been in. It's modern, it's beholden to the #ADA, it *should* be easy to use its sidewalks, but between all the pedestrian overpasses trying to feed us* through casinos instead of down the sidewalk and adding lots of distance, and the constant construction tearing up sidewalks, rarely marked before we headed down them, it's *barely* accessible. Quito, with its cobblestones and narrow sidewalks, was easier.

We're here for a family wedding, but won't be coming back as tourists.

*Us:
One nearly 13 multiply #neurodivergent person who is overwhelmed by some kinds of visual and auditory simulation. And yeah, shoulda grabbed ear protection, but it would have been too much regardless.
One 60 year old disabled by pain, deformities, and poor balance due to 2+ decades of medication-resistant #rheumatoid disease.

I think I'll roll my #powerchair (which I use because of rheumatoid disease and chronic ankle problems after fracture caused because of #osteoporosis after #prednisone needed during RA flares) down to the city arts #festival today and have a #beer and buy some #art.

A community in County Tyrone got together in 2019 to upgrade the powerchair of a man living on his family's farm who wanted to be able to help out with the work. Since then various attachments have, presumably, been manufactured or adapted because as well as the more conventional trailers, he even has a snow plough!

argh! tripped over a powerchair wheel earlier and the move I made to save myself has pulled my shoulder. That's twice in two days. friggin kitchen refit has meant loads of stuff has had to be moved, including where BFF stores her chair when it's not in use. There's basically about 5ft between her chair and mine. Seeing as my body doesn't know what straight means, I'm left trying to go between them and not catch on anything, which fails sometimes. #Blind #PowerChair #Disability #Kitchen #Accessibility

More #shenanigans from yesterday (I was tired and forgot last night, okay, lol): I managed to accidentally lock the arm of my #powerchair upright after flipping it up to pick up something I dropped, and it took us way too long to figure that out lmfao. Shout out to the patient people who were also definitely laughing at us.

Does anyone here own a Pride iGo folding powerchair?
