But i like puzzle games. I think a lot about optimization and efficiency.

But MY puzzle games are all violent.

Metal Slug Tactics is a fantastic game about clearing obstacles and solving issues with a limited set of pieces each with constraints. Abstracted, it's about finding acceptable solutions to problems.

So is Lamplighters League. So is Devil Survivor. So was Fire Emblem (RIP)

In preparation for Family D&D Night (and with thanks to my earlier guide to splicing maps together!), I've finally completed an expanded "overworld" map for our game world. So far, the kids have mostly hung around on the North coast of the Central Sea, but they're picked up a hook that may take them all the way across to the other side... and beyond?

Banana for scale.

(If your GMing for kids, you probably already know this, but "feelies" go a long way. All the maps. All the scrolls. Maybe even some props. Go all in. They love it.)

Kiddo is going to her first Tabletop RPG session and asked me for help. "You're an old geek, you know how to do this character stuff, right?" - And we spent about an hour rolling up and tuning a character for the game they're going to be playing. Not sure she's entirely sold on the idea but I likened it to the hours she'll spend tweaking her Sims characters and I think it clicked. #dicerule #rpgs
