I finally got around to watching #RTD #RussellTDavies' #AMidsummerNightsDream and hoo boy, it was a stunner. Especially in 2025.
It was so RTD it was heartbreaking how he adapted -- well, beyond adapted, ENLISTED -- some elements of the story not just to modernize it but to make it somehow more timeless/archetypal. Hard to describe beyond that without saying too much. Frankly, just hard to describe.
I'm a huge fan of the #KevinKline/#MichellePfeiffer and cast of pre-stardom stars version of the play from 1999.
#RTD's version of it is from 2016 and it was a BBC TV movie.
