Threshing with the "threshing sledge" in a village of Alevi Turkmen (Yukarı Kotanlı/ Selim district of Kars province, Eastern Turkey).
Pointed stones embedded in boards make up the sled, which is then, weighed down by one person and pulled by oxen or, as here, by horses, driven over the harvested grain, slowly separating "the wheat from the chaff".
