From the initial survey to this final report, the review has taken the stance that the law is in and of itself a positive thing. SWAI fundamentally disagrees with this position and is supported by extensive evidence that sex workers are harmed by these laws.

ICYMI Belgium listened to sex workers' needs and decriminalised sex work! Criminalisation of sex work creates vulnerability and increases violence.
These laws were brought in while increasing sentences for rape and centring consent within the law.
Only full decriminalisation of sex work will ensure that the health and safety of sex workers in Ireland are prioritised.
Banning online advertising will not reduce sex work, it will push sex workers away from their safety nets and back onto the streets. But it is much easier to make noise about online advertising than address the material needs of sex workers.
"...the Review highlights that despite the criminalisation of the purchase of sexual services, demand has not decreased.” Despite the Minister for Justice admitting that the law is failing, the report still says the law is meeting its objectives!
