ICYMI The review of the laws governing sex work in Ireland was finally published last month and we are incredibly disappointed with the outcome.

From the initial survey to this final report, the review has taken the stance that the law is in and of itself a positive thing. SWAI fundamentally disagrees with this position and is supported by extensive evidence that sex workers are harmed by these laws.

In 2002, a law was passed in Germany to legalize sex work as a service. Vivien worked as an escort and dominatrix for four years. Christina was forced into sex work by her drug-addicted mother.
The change in the law regarding sex work presupposes that people offer sexual services voluntarily and that they are of legal age. However, the reality is often different.
