There's technically one market (super or otherwise) within 1.5km from me, but that's only if you draw a straight line. The only safe path there is really 2km because of this tiny stream. There's private property on each bank so the city won't ever put in a foot bridge to connect residents to the market.

The only way through is this travesty of a "sidewalk" next to a six-lane . It's only navigable by because a car hopped the curb and took out a sign that blocked the path.

The best view of the stream I could get. Residents of the neighboring garden apartments are blocked from the stream by a chain link fence with plastic inserts to ensure they don't even get to SEE the water or any nature.
The hyper-narrow walkway over the motor vehicle bridge. It's only barely wide enough to accommodate my mountain bike's handlebars and the 65kph road next to it has no shoulder. There's also a utility pole in the middle of the walkway up ahead.
Where the sidewalk ends and transitions to the garden apartments' parking lot. Straight ahead there's a utility ole and a telecom service box completely blocking the path, so you have to veer hard right on crumbling asphalt, but not too early or else you'll clip the 20cm high curb and chain link fence. If you look VERY closely you can see the rotted remains of a steel pole that has been destroyed by an off-roading motorist.

(1) This is a station of the Dortmund Metro. While I’m glad there’s an extensive metro network I could’t help questioning the placing of many stations in the middle of very wide roads. This comes with several negative consequences for the people that intent to use the metro.

ในพื้นที่ที่เกิดนี้ก็ไม่มี traffic calming ใดๆ จะเกิดเหตุชนแบบนี้ ก็ไม่แปลก การเรียกสิ่งนี้ว่าอุบัติเหตุ จึงไม่ควรใช้ เพราะนี่คือการชนที่มาจากการออกแบบ การชนก็คือการชน (จะเขียนเข้าเรื่อง treatment กับ modification factor ละเอียดสักวัน)

Wir haben für euch #Torfhaus besucht damit ihr das nicht machen müsst. Es sei denn ihr wollt von da aus wandern wie Goethe. In dem Fall einfach mit dem 820 von Bad Harzburg bis Torfhaus. Allerdings bringt wasserdichte Schuhe mit.

Neben Hochmoor und Brocken Tour ist die Location eine #Stroad und Tourinummer im Aufbau. Der obligatorische Aussichtsturm ist noch nicht fertig.

Der in 2023 jetzt doch noch nicht fertige Aussichtsturm. Auf dem Bild ist der gewünschte Aussichtsturm ins beste Licht gerückt während dahinter eine etwas chaotisch wirkende Baustelle zu sehen ist. Das Schild sagt der Turm werde 2023 fertig. Die Baustelle eher 2024 oder 2025.
Die andere Richtung von Fußweg. Mit beleuchtetem Parkplatzschild Bauzaun und riesigem Schneeberg. Aber natürlich kein weiterer Fußweg, kein Radweg nix.
