As a child, I was impressed by the secret big cave below the desert. And time traveling is still a good thing to think and talk about, even if time can’t be changed. That gigantic tunnel and the large computers! And I know about resting sets and scenes from other films.<br>How does that partly ready time machine manage to always transport your hero’s to well known and dangerous places (and times). I think it did a mind-merge with an other time machine with that habit, Aled <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/TARDIS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TARDIS</span></a>.<br>The TT plots are a bit to equal: They get prisoned, do some fist fighting, find help and finally solve the trouble. Often they manage to transport things or people, but not Tony and Doug.<br>The Nazi Episode 15 was a bit odd for me as a German. The spoken German was good. An unusual body count. Mark GuyerWhen Patrick Troughton arrived in the Tardis, some viewers decried that the show was dead. Decades later, he is considered one of the best Doctors ever. We’re experiencing the same stuff today. A large group of people don’t like the show anymore and cannot fathom that anyone else is still enjoying it. The biggest difference now is that there is an entire industry of reactionaries who rely on that warped POV to make a living. They fan the flames of dissent to get more views. It’s overwhelmingly stupid. If you don’t like the show, don’t watch it. -karlos-<p>After a long time from my childhood (1971 in Germany), I now watched the <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/TheTimeTunnel" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TheTimeTunnel</span></a> ’s first episode for the 2nd time. English this time. The next 29 days are scheduled for the remaining episodes. Quite some of them I may never have seen before.</p><p>The setting of the series is not far from that of the much older <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/DoctorWho" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DoctorWho</span></a>. His <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/TARDIS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TARDIS</span></a> also was intended to “randomly” visit well known spots in history. Just the size of the machinery is very different. What for do need they 800 floors and so many people?</p><p>I well remember the sliding opening to let the car disappear below the desert ground (which is bigger on the inside). And the hopeless attempts to save the <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/Titanic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Titanic</span></a> (Voyage of the Damned). Not be able to change the future is the best solution against time paradoxes, parallel worlds or disappearing people on a paper picture. (Wibbly wobbly, timey wimey) The Doctor never changed the timeline, did he/she?</p><p>That will not preserve Tony and Doug to get hurt or die, except for the series would end or have a really remarkable twist in its cast. But who knows. The future is not written yet, or is it?</p><p>September 9, 1966 - about the same time, (September 17) the German <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/Raumpatrouille" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Raumpatrouille</span></a> premiered! The Orion team hat her time travels only later in the extended novelisations.</p>
