Because by doing so, we feel more knowledgeable and empowered. We assume more conscious digital behaviours. When we open a free social network like Mastodon, we become aware of all the advertising we avoid (which consumes a lot of data). We get used to deleting old posts because we know they overload the server. Because we know the admin and we understand some of his decisions regarding managing limited resources. And we even limit the number of Gifs and change them for our cool emojis 😉. And so we are once again aware that our data "weighs", "consumes", and "is expensive". But we are also more empowered. 💪

It will shape Austria's <a href="https://eupolicy.social/tags/research" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#research</a> and innovation policies from 2024 to 2026. Focussing on, among other things, <a href="https://eupolicy.social/tags/technologicalsovereignty" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#technologicalsovereignty</a> , <a href="https://eupolicy.social/tags/researchinfrastructure" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#researchinfrastructure</a> , and building <a href="https://eupolicy.social/tags/innovation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#innovation</a> <a href="https://eupolicy.social/tags/ecosystems" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#ecosystems</a> e.g. for <a href="https://eupolicy.social/tags/quantumtechnologies" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#quantumtechnologies</a>, it is very much in line with the issues the Austrian Council is working on. Sascha RuhlandToday, the Austrian Council invited stakeholders of the Austrian Innovation System and experts in Quantum Technologies to talk about <a href="https://eupolicy.social/tags/technologicalsovereignty" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#technologicalsovereignty</a>.
