Out vinyl shopping this morning at Intense Records in Chelmsford got some good bargains. A Marillion album signed by Fish, two prog solo albums from Steve Hackett (Genesis) and Steve Howe (Yes). A free Sammy Hagar album, a Geordie album (Brian Johnson's band before AC/DC). Finally I bought my third Groundhogs album 43 years after buying the first two .

Tony McPhee (and the Groundhogs) was definitely a big part of my early rock music days and I'm sure had a lot of influence on my own playing.

I saw them on the UK college circuit many times in my teens, bloody great gigs they were.

This is a brilliant obituary in The Guardian, the guy gets it spot on.
