Bled was an unexpected adventure but one of my favorites from this trip. We were actually on the way to Vienna when we got word that the Austrian trains were on strike and we'd have to do the majority of our trip by bus. So we made the quick decision to jump off the train at the next stop. We couldn't have planned it better, Bled was such a great experience and one of the most memorable places from the whole trip.

Today's historic photo of the day: A four car DEB set on #train S38 the Canberra Monaro Express with HPF951 leading at Cooma, NSW, December 1984.

Whilst Cooma was this train's southern terminus, the set did often run beyond the platform for a few metres after arrival, maybe to re-fuel from the tank visible at right here. The dock platform in the foreground was formerly used by Bombala railmotors, but those had ceased a few years beforehand.
