I made a playlist with some tunes I used to listen to in the zeroes on another ethically questionable streaming platform we may have to abandon soon... I named it: "Pixelfed is full-blown zeroes nostalgia.” I listen to it attentively in the cool sunlight and feel suspended in my own life, hovering, neither here nor there. Or simultaneously somewhere. I don't always know how to hold linear time.
In 2008 I wrote an essay in a U.S. American college explicating Gronlandic Edit by of Montreal. I was very concerned with having a good taste in music. Considering the myriad ways in which music has saved my ass; a pretty keen investment. I was 22, I think. Though it's hard for me to imagine ever having been 22. Maybe that’s because I never felt entirely at home in my own life at the time. Chronically hovering. The anchoring-feature wasn't unlocked in my experience until years later.

Maybe it's the PMS, or all the pretty pictures in a digital dungeon, but. Oof. Some seventeen odd years later, still. Same.

When I first joined #Zeroes on Mastodon, I was given the advice "follow a diverse bunch of people to begin" so I basically followed anyone who had a #mask in their profile - selfie, icon, anything.
Some brilliant, down to earth, and reality-facing people have filled my feeds with useful and interesting information ever since.
I hope #yallMasking keeps exploding. It's like springtime, when suddenly the flowerbuds open and the birds sing and the insects thicken - aaaaah! *There* is the rest of the life!
upside, the folks on zeroes.ca are an interesting and (at least in non-COVID opionions) diverse lot, and it's nice to hear the murmurings of sensible, reasonable people.
It helps reduce gnashing and groaning!
@freakazoid zeroes.ca doesn't seem to have an official "calling the cops" policy but @trendless has been welcoming, helpful and positive and that would seem very out of character.

I was just reading about the new #quantumvirus which only infects binary "1"s in a computer.
The trick to #surviving it is to make sure that your system has many more binary #zeroes than #ones. Unfortunately, the #QuantumAntiVirus to remove it is very "1" heavy.
If the number of binary "1"s on your system exceeds a certain threshold (believed to be around 60%, but may have a random component involved) it shuts down your system, but not before mailing your browser history to your spouse, children, and mother, and pinging ICE and DHS.
