Devin posted some snippets of new songs on his instagram and I am not digging it 😖 Not into Steven Wilson's solo stuff either, and Muse has been shite for a couple years. That's a bit depressing
(I know they're not necessarily bad objectively, it's depressing because I can't enjoy them personally anymore)

I try to browse progmetal forums and listen to stuff that they post about but not gonna lie most of it doesn't stick to me.

Those guys had about 7 songs but really nailed the best balance of prog and metal I ever heard. I think some of them ended up in Krallice and Dysrhythmia, also prog (but more metal, esp Krallice, who are amazing in their own right).
Also I've been looping The Weeknd's Pray For Me and Call Out My Name as well as Kendrick Lamar's All The Stars a lot the past few days and it's kinda shifting me towards a different kind of sound that I want
