@Gargron @mike Just listened to it. Very insightful and clarified a thing or two as well.

@Gargron @mike thanks.

I would love to read the transcript. Is there a chance you could provide one?

@Gargron @mike

Threads is funded by the same investors behind Musk.

The goal is to subsume Mastodon.

@Npars01 @Gargron @mike I wouldn't go as far as saying subdue but definitely to hook up a new source of data, akeen to the time the Zuke wanted to expand to china. It's an untapped data market ready to increase the revenue

@Gargron @mike great conversation, thank you! BTW I suggest you post a link to your Patreon account so people can easily find where they can support your efforts.

As for those using Mastodon and “wondering” if their posts are completely secure? Well duh, if you want that, I doubt you should be using any social media esp not ones run by corporate entities whose business model is to Hoover up as much info as possible about you…

THANKS FOR GIVING USERS AN ALTERNATIVE SOCIAL WEB EXPERIENCE!

@Gargron @mike take a look at Eugen's Christmas tree and listen to his clever words ... greetings from Thuringia to .5 guy behind Mastodon

@Gargron @mike I so wish you’d covered the movie. The bleakest thing I’ve ever seen. Traumatised me as a teenager

@Gargron @mike I listened to it yesterday and enjoyed it greatly. Thank you both!

@Gargron @mike great Job from both of you on this. One of the questions not posed but useful would be advice on how we, users, can help further evangelize the social web to the masses. Is there any particular way we can help?

@Gargron @mike Good podcast. Good interview. It really helped me understand the growth potential of Activity Hub in particular. Your vision for growth and individual choice, a non-intuitive pairing, is brilliant. Thank you for building this green, friendly, and fertile ecosystem.

@Gargron @mike
This was a great Interview.
So true: the fediverse and activitypub is a game changer.
I recognized that when I joined Mastodon in early 2022. Originally I just wanted to look what the protocols is at all.
But since that I am a proud little monthly Patreon Spender.

@Gargron Sounds great! What would be the best way to contact you for an interview request?

@mike the main thing that I learned from this episode is that there is someone on the planet even more enthusiastic about ActivityPub than I am.

@evan @mike @Gargron

Thought his rendition of the story of XMPP was in sync with yours - that the cause of it's death wasn't mainly due to "embrace extend extinguish" issues but to other problems.

@Gargron great podcast! Could you share a link to the blog posts you mentioned, which explain ActivityPub with Ruby?

@Gargron @mike@flipboard.social What an inspiring and joyful conversation. Thanks! :HeartPride:

@Gargron @mike cool! I was just reaching out to you the other day to have a discussion with our Fosstodon community as part of a meetup. Let me know if you’d be interested.
