@NeoNacho I’m gonna have to disagree with you there. The statement is pretty clear the endorsement is more about “She’s not Trump, and he is a menace to everything and everyone” than any policy agreements.

At this point I care a lot more about getting people who weren’t already gonna vote for Harris to vote for Harris than I do about whether she accepts or rejects (or in all likelihood, never says a word about) this endorsement

NeoNacho

@designatednerd Sure, but the implication is that whatever the Harris administration does will ultimately be acceptable and/or inconsequential to the worst possible people.

@NeoNacho @designatednerd
That’s incorrect.

They are the •second• worst possible people, and in this case, that is all the difference.

@NeoNacho @designatednerd More acceptable and less inconsequential than the alternative, yes.

"People I don't like want choice A, which I also want, because they see that choice B is worse _even for them_" really says nothing about choice A. It might be almost as bad as choice B, or it might be the best thing since sliced bread.

@gregtitus @designatednerd It’s not really about liking them but they represent a choice B’ that we already know was very bad. Them thinking A is fine means that there’s a relatively small difference between A and B’ in their opinion.

@NeoNacho @designatednerd If they can be placed on a line so that A > B' > B, it only shows that (A - B') < (B' - B). That is, the distance between A and B' is less than the distance between B' and B. You think that B' and B are close together and so that means A and B' are even closer. But from _their_ point of view (and mine, FWIW), B' and B are very very far apart.

Republicans with democracy vs. Republicans with autocracy is a big difference to many people, these B' Republicans among them.

@NeoNacho @gregtitus I don’t think that follows. If they didn’t think Trump was much, much worse, they would absolutely not be making this endorsement.

@NeoNacho @designatednerd before things can start getting better, they have to stop getting worse

@NeoNacho i mean “acceptable if it means not turning the country into an autocratic white nationalist state” seems like a pretty low bar to clear.
