"It would be like Hank Hill setting up a booth for Strickland Propane at a PETA convention, which he'd never do because Hank Hill is a Republican with common sense and sure as hell knows vegans aren’t his target demo for propane and propane accessories."

@charlotteclymer The thing is, some of these folks consider themselves “the white people” of their own country, the upper caste. That’s why they are surprised. They don’t think they are the exceptional brown people who are spared. They fundamentally see themselves as white, whiteness not being a skin color but a way of differentiating yourself from “the lesser” people.

@charlotteclymer As expected, Trump will side with Musk.

@charlotteclymer Personally I think one important thing to add to these discussions is that most companies will not be rewarding the hardest working or the ones that contribute the most.
Most companies will exploit them as much as possible and then fire to replace with cheaper labor.
Edit: …but that is what people have been told. And often believe. That if they just work hard enough…

@charlotteclymer Oh my god, that post by "Sidharth" is either parody or the most oblivious person to every touch a computer

And it is beyond irony that the party that wants to disband the Dept. of Education & destroy public education, decry the lack of educated workers, so the only recourse is to bring in clever immigrant workers.
My eyes are rolling so far back in my head I can see my butt.

From what I’ve read about the visa program is it leads to worker abuse since the visas are tied to a specific company & aren’t portable.

@PandaChronicle @charlotteclymer
The oligarchs are only comfortable working with slaves it seems.

They'll say the H1b visa program is for skilled employees that can't find Americans to do, but then why is Amazon using that program to hire 10,000 warehouse workers in 2024.

Is the "skill" they bring an aversion to unionization?
