@dansup I'm looking forward to to this, Dan. What's your intent for groups (maybe a long-term thing)? Do you envision that it might function like Twitter or Substack groups, more like Gup.pe, or smaller conversations like iMessage?
An encrypted, fediverse instant messenger for iOS/Android. Planning to integrate with other popular IMs for a single app to connect with your contacts.
Do you intend for the Android app to be able to replace SMS/MMS apps? (I know RCS is off the table.) Ditto for Matrix. Do you have a roadmap, with or without dates?
@adamhotep @dansup there's a matrix bridge for RCS at the very least
@breadcattt @dansup For RCS? I've heard about the SMS/MMS bridge, but I don't want to funnel my conversations through a third party and I'm not interested in setting up and maintaining my own server for that. I want it client-side.
@adamhotep @breadcattt @dansup yeah, I mean if matrix support is added, it could be bridged to google messages through the client. this is the plan for beeper (which is currently bridged through their own servers)
@dansup If it's not difficult, please add extended rights management for all group/channel members and each individual member to the backlog. As an example, we can take the Telegram messenger. I have not yet seen a better implementation
@dansup looking forward to this...

And if'n you need any guinea pigs... I mean testers, give me a shout. Or if'n you need more Android devices to test against, I have a few Android 10 limited devices that I need to rid m'self of, maybe even older versions.
