In this weeks’s @club MacStories Weekly column for members I detail how I created an iPhone-like Action Button on my Mac. You can have one default task across your whole Mac or go nuts and specify different actions for which ever app is currently active!

@jonathanreed @club Jonathan, this looks exciting. Curious how you get the § key though.
@WarnerCrocker @jonathanreed @club I believe Jonathan’s using a UK layout keyboard. On a US keyboard, the equivalent would be the ~ key.
@devondundee @jonathanreed @club That was my suspicion. Thanks!
@WarnerCrocker @devondundee @club Oh no! I actually didn’t know that! Of course you can still use whichever key you like. Even the globe key.
@jonathanreed @devondundee @club No worries! I figured I could map this to any key, but I was curious. Cross-cultural keyboard differences can be kooky sometimes.
@WarnerCrocker @devondundee @club Your ~ key is certainly going to be used more than the section symbol we have!
@jonathanreed @devondundee @club Also curious how @johnvoorhees accesses § symbol. As you say, he’s going to need it in the coming months.
@WarnerCrocker @jonathanreed @devondundee @club I have set that symbol as a Favorite in the Mac's Character Viewer.
