@hgbruenker I agree with what you say. But you are missing a key issue: Unity. We as Europeans need to work on a shared sense of community. The right-wing parties say they want to create a Europe of fatherlands, but what they really want is to divide us. They want to weaken the ties between countries and inside countries.

Unity is not easy to achieve. The current EU (despite its flaws) is a remarkable construct of peace and unity. But it is not enough to face the challenges that we have.

@nimi
I absolutely agree. That's why we have to get people together. We Europeans have much more in common than many people often think. Almost everybody who lived abroad and came back to Europe realises that.
So let's work on that and let's make the best place to live 😀

@hgbruenker @nimi There is A LOT of sunk cost from national governments, half of which are quite ideologically trumpy and happy to kiss the ring while some of the others (Germany) are so mercantilist that they don't care about condemning millions of Ukrainians to live under Russian occupation as long as it gets them cheap Russian gas.

So all of this kumbaya talk means nothing without MONEY invested in common capacities at EU level and sovereignity pooled even further into the EU.

@Mnemosinee @nimi
Agreed.
And to get a hand on the money that is needed. takes the political route and strives to get influence in Brussels and as many national parlaments throughout as possible

I think that's what we need to do to achieve change.

@hgbruenker @Mnemosinee @nimi
These remarks and #propaganda of one #party are exactly the #death of #Europe. Stop the #boosting but get together, all 27 #members and #unite against the #crumbling #american #supremacy and dwindling #democracy .

The problem is that national parties have to do national politics to get reelected. It's a structural fault.
We need more pan-european parties - progressive and conservative - to achieve truly European politics that strives for the best solution for whole Europe.

I'd celebrate if the greens, left an conservative would form truly European parties.... but their won't 😞

@hgbruenker @Truucoo @nimi Money. Focus on MONEY. Mario Draghi already built the roadmap, with enough leeway for all the tiny lil' countries to argue about financing and fill in the details. Focus on pressuring the national governments in each capital (which then blocks and vetoes shit in the Council) to follow Draghi's main MONEY recommendations.
