Ok I have tried to get the new 1.0 version of the ActivityPub plugin for WordPress working, but unfortunately it still has the same bug as 10 months ago when I last tried this (ref wordpress.org/support/topic/we). @pfefferle not sure if you have any further suggestions, but it seems like WP sites hosted on Hostinger still cannot use this plugin on Mastodon :(

@ricmac I already had contacted hostinger and the last message I received was "we are working on it". sadly this is an issue that I can't solve on plugin level and WebFinger is something that is required at least from Mastodon.

Buuut... if you want to use only one account, maybe this will help with your issue: wordpress.org/support/topic/pi ?!?

@pfefferle the problem is I can't find a folder named "/.well-known/". I seem to recall having the same issue last time and that Hostinger just doesn't allow people on shared servers to access it. Anyway, thanks for looking into it!

@ricmac But someone from hostinger told me, that it is possible to create this folder and to have a file inside it?!?

@pfefferle @ricmac Is your site running through Cloudflare CDN or similar? If so you can setup a redirect/response for this particular url on their service before it even gets to your host - There are several articles I have seen on how to configure CF to create the webfinger file for aliasing your mastodon handle & presume same url trick could be used
