What should we prioritize next?

(S3 support, ComposeUI v4 and Geotagging are ready to ship, thus not included in this poll)

@okpierre Circles are coming, they depend on a few things like ComposeUI v4 and Direct Messages.

After those are released, we can ship Circles 😉

@pixelfed It's funny how everyone's voting on mobile APIs when you don't need a mobile client when you have a good mobile version of the website. ;)

@hund
It we are talking about a #pwa, I agree. But in generale a (good) mobile website doesn't offer the same features as an app (an deep down in your heart you know it!) 😂

Also, kinda using Pixelfed from mobile browser right know, and we are on a good path, imo.
@pixelfed

@dyamon @pixelfed I was sarcastic. Dansup thinks that a good mobile website makes an native client unnecessary. I tried to tease him a bit because everyone seems to want a mobile client. :)

@hund @pixelfed I disagree. Pixelfed currently is AWFUL as mobile app. For some reasons I had to install Instagram on my Android device and if feels so much better.

For example: I can share images from other apps to Instagram. Interface is way quicker (the amount of time which pixelfed takes to load on 4G/Wired connections is terrible), interface is not native (buttons are small somewhere) etc.

Pixelfed has a huge potential and I keep using it more than Insta. But a native app is required IMO.

@hund @pixelfed Hit the limit, so continue:
Despite some bugs and @dansup's "Mobile first" motto, Pixelfed has wonderful desktop interface in the Web. It's really better on big screens than on small devices and even iPads. So, native apps are definitely needed (again, IMO)

@Groosha @hund @pixelfed even without a native app we could benefit from mobile api. There are already Mastodon/Pleroma compatible apps which could use that api.

@Groosha I was sarcastic. Dansup thinks that a good mobile website makes an native client unnecessary. I tried to tease him a bit because everyone seems to want a mobile client. :)

@pixelfed Stories would bei awesome. But Pixelfed needs an App/Apps.
The mobile Page ist good, but an App would bei better in my opinion.

@pixelfed
gif preview ?
My page is full of « no preview available »

@pixelfed I hope mobile APIs win. *Every* friend has responded to my #PixelFed pitch with "ok, which app should I download?" I'm not kidding, every single one.

@chartier @pixelfed It's how I feel. The web app is good, but I use an iPhone SE. So I start to post a photo and then just stop because it is hard to work on a small screen with the web app.

I recently started downloading my photos on my iMac and then uploading to PixelFed from there, but that is not my usual workflow which makes it challenging.

@pixelfed What’s the difference between a mobile API and just an API?

@pixelfed Whatever you do, do it fast. Instagram is apparently in the process of shitting it's pants and becoming mombook 2.0.

@moshtodon @pixelfed There is no specific source but it disabled like counting(or something like that) and it seems to be getting harsher with lewd content.

@pixelfed there are still alot of issues with federation that need to be worked out. It would be cool federation was focused on getting perfected before you started getting into new territory... a few things like: names and avatars don't seem to be federating to the pixelfed side seem like important ones to sort out asap
