The Fediverse needs real, moderated forums, not just instances, and *definitely* not hashtags.
I'm not sure how this should work yet; I'm guessing at the least a forum would need a "home" instance, but it should be able to have moderators on different instances who are able to accept join requests and moderate posts.

@rysiek @elomatreb Pleroma (or a fork thereof) is seeming more and more like it might be the real future of the Fediverse.
@freakazoid @rysiek Don't make software choice into tribalism, one way or the other. There are other promising AP implementations too
